This ’66 C10 came to us with potential but still needed a lot of work.
Engine & Drivetrain
A 383 was originally planned to go in this 66. But after inspecting it before clean up we found an excessive amount of metal in the oil pan. At that point we decided to go a different route. A 6.0 LQ4 was sourced and refreshed. We then mated the 6.0 to a TCI TH350 with a 3200 stall converter.
Exterior
First we started with finishing some metal repair on the cab. After, we blended the patina on both the rockers and cab corners. To finish off the cab, we shaved the firewall and added notches for front tire clearance. Then it was painted a factory blue color. Next we switched focus to the bed. A custom set of rear wheel tubs were built and sprayed white to match the chassis. Then a semi open bed floor was built to keep the airride and framework visible.
Chassis & Suspension
This truck sits on an SSChassisWorks airride frame painted bright white. The air ride system features Bag Riders Air Managment, dual Viair compressors and an aluminum 5 gallon tank.
