Max came to us looking to bring new life to his 1950 Chevy 3100. This truck is very important to Max as it originally belonged to his grandfather. Max’s grandfather formerly owned a bar named “Blue Moon Tavern”.
Originally the truck came to us with a faded black primer on the body. It was then scuffed and shot in a one of a kind blue patina paint job. After getting the look we were going for, the truck got three coats of gloss clear. To tie it all together a custom set of 3-piece Rotiform wheels wrapped in Diamondback white wall tires were installed. We also build a raised bed floor on gas struts to allow easy servicing of the air management.
Max wanted to make some power. So we built a 6.2 LS with a stage 2 BTR LS3 cam and mated it to a t56 6 speed transmission. This combo made 496whp 478wtq. As for the rear end we shortened a ford 8.8, fitting perfect under this 3100.
A shaved firewall along with cleaned up inner fenders, both sprayed black really helped clean up under the hood. To keep this truck running cool in the Miami heat a 3 core aluminum radiator was installed with a big 16″ electric fan.
Dreams of laying this truck on the ground made for some extra work. A mustang ll front suspension was installed along with a rear triangulated 4 link and custom bag mounts. For air management we chose Air Lift 3p to control the dominator bags in each corner. We paired that with dual viair compressors and a 4 gallon polished aluminum air tank. A custom front torsion sway bar keeps body roll to a minimum and makes driving this truck a joy.
At first the interior needed some extensive metal work to get it solid again. We rebuilt the floors and patched an excessive radio hole in the dash. After that the interior was sprayed in a gloss white really bringing life to the inside of the truck. A full upholstery kit was built by B62 Upholstery and installed. Keeping the interior classy a set of Dakota Digital gauges were installed, displaying everything needed in a hotrod like this.
