This 3100 had seen better days. But that patina was worth saving. After extensive metal repair and a whole lot of man hours .Old Blue was ready to hit the road again.
After the metal repairs were done. We blended the patina on a large portion of the cab. Fresh glass was installed all the way around. A custom flip up bed floor was built and topped with wood. This allows you to service the air ride and show off some of the fabrication work under the bed. Old Blue sits on a set of 18″ Detroit Steel Smoothies.
Looking for both performance and reliability. We sourced an LS6/T56 combo that received a refresh and a stage 2 btr cam. A ford 8.8 was shortened and installed.
To clean up the engine bay we shaved the firewall and sprayed it a fresh blue. We also painted the 4 core aluminum radiator black to draw less attention to it.
The factory frame was sandblasted and painted. A Mustang II front suspension was installed. In the rear a step notch and a triangulated four-link were built. Airlift 3p air management was installed along with dual Viair compressors and a brushed aluminum 4-gallon air tank.
